What is the price range of your gowns?
Camellia carries dresses that range from $997- 2000. We don't think you need to spend an arm and a leg to have wonderful service AND a gorgeous gown! Lillian West, Adore, DaVinci Bridal and Camellia's Private Label range from $997- 2000. The average price of our gowns is $1300-1500.
When should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. We usually have appointments before and immediately following your appointment so if you arrive early or late, we may not have any one to help you.
How long is my appointment?
We reserve an hour and a half of time for you to have your own individual appointment. While at Camellia you and your group will work one on one with a bridal stylist so we can focus all our attention on helping you.
When should I order my wedding dress?
Your dress from Lillian West By Justin Alexander, Adore by Justin Alexander, Informals by DaVinci and our private label Camellia line can take up to six to eight months to produce, since it is being made to order. When you factor in shipping and alterations, it could be a nine month total process. We suggest deciding on a dress six to nine months prior to your wedding date, so you have time built in for fittings and accessorizing. There are rush options for weddings under six months, but rush fees do apply.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Take some time to look through magazines and websites so you have a general idea of what you prefer in a wedding dress. This will help us get started in the selection process, although your stylist may also have some recommendations that you will love. It is helpful to bring undergarments of similar styles that you will wear on your wedding day, including nude or white underwear.
Should I bring heels?
No, we require you to take off your shoes when trying on dresses.
Will I need alterations?
We like to order the dress as close to your current size as possible, but all bridal gowns need alterations to give it a perfect fit for your wedding day, plus you'll want a bustle. Camellia offers on site alterations from Trish B. Stylin' Design and Alterations, and Adrianne of A Williams Costumes who are both fabulous and affordable! We recommend starting your alterations two months prior to the wedding date, so make sure to add this time onto the six to eight months for gown production. Trish has a $20 booking fee to reserve your appointment, which is paid directly to her, as are all alteration charges.
Do you have plus size samples?
We do sell plus size dresses- we love to accommodate as many beautiful body types as possible with our sample dresses. The majority of our samples are sizes 10 through 18, and we also have a selection of sample gowns in size 20-26. (The 24 & 26 are due to arrive in September.) Since our samples will not be an exact fit for most, we use clips for dresses that are too big on the body, and pins and modesty panels for dresses that are on the small side. This will give you the vision of how our dresses will fit when they are tailored to you. If you would like to speak to someone about what we have in your size, please send us an email or call.
How many people should I bring with me?
What is bridal sizing?
Bridal sizing is vintage sizing. Your bridal size will more than likely be two sizes larger then your current vanity size. If you wear a size 10 in regular clothing for example you will be a bridal size 14.
Do you rent wedding dresses?
No, we do not. If you are a photographer, stylist, bridal expo coordinator or magazine please contact us at CamelliaSavannah@gmail.com as they may be available for shoots or fashion shows.
Can you ship my gown?
Yes, we have many destination brides in Savannah who want to buy their dresses here too, so we are happy to ship to you.
Do you have parking?
Camellia is in a charming Savannah neighborhood, with plenty of free street parking available.
Can we bring food and/or beverages?
We would prefer that you not bring any food or drink into the shop. Although we usually pop the bubbly for all when you say "Yes!", we will not be serving any beverages while we are in pandemic mode.
What are your Covid-19 precautions?
We are limiting your party to 5, please, and we require that you all wear a mask. We have disposable masks if you don't have one. We will be socially distancing ourselves, and not serving any beverages at this time. Gowns will be sanitized and steamed in between appointments. Please call us if you have any questions/concerns.
